Luca Jardim was born in São Paulo, Brazil. After graduating from Fundação Getúlio Vargas with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, he worked for one and a half year as a financial analyst at Lemann Foundation, a non-profit family organization that works with public education in Brazil. Then he worked as an operations analyst and marketing coordinator at an asset management company in São Paulo for almost three years.
Luca's relationship with photography started when he was a child. Raised by parents who love to travel around the world, Luca also had the privilege to always have a camera to capture these moments. However, it was only in 2015 that Luca took his first photography course at Rever, in São Paulo. Since then a new chapter began in his life and photography went from a hobby to an activity of major importance, when, in 2019, he decided to quit his job in the financial markets to study Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism at the International Center of Photography in New York City.
Luca has since been discovering stories that reflect human existential conflicts, as well as his personal journey.
